At the same time that Michael Porter, one of the most celebrated founding Arborealists was exhibiting his Dirt Series at the Newlyn Art Gallery the Arborealists exhibited at The Mariner's Gallery home of The St. Ives Society of Artists, thus extending their terrain as far south west as Cornwall.
The society's artists exhibited alongside Arborealists with their responses to the theme of the tree. Despite the exhibition being favourably reviewed in the St Ives Times & Echo by art critic Peter Davies it really polarized the opinion of many Arborealists that museum level curated exhibitions must become the norm as the group covered most of the UK.
