Every year, artists who draw or paint trees express interest in joining the movement. However, artists are selected for their reputation and work style, often bordering on nonfigurative and even abstract. Since 2021, The Arborealists have now formalised election procedures, have a constitution and elected committee. This positive achievement ensures the selection of new members align with the collective's artistic vision and contribute to its diverse creative practices.
With a run time of four weeks, the exhibition will host some of the Arborealists' most creatively diverse and influential practices within the concept of ancient trees, exploring the historical and mythological stories through art. The Arborealists will use the 'Forests, Woods and Groves' exhibition to launch their third publication featuring essays by George Peterken OBE, Tim Craven: President of the Arborealists movement and Dr Philippa Beale, amongst writing and images by the Arborealist artists.
