I have always been surrounded by nature and grew up appreciating the beauty and importance of trees. After drawing my whole life, I have spent the last 7 years developing my artistic style and building up my portfolio with a focus on trees and nature. To me, trees signify life, our ability to breathe, connecting us all over the world.
I feel I would bring a different edge to The Arborealists with my work on wood, I aim to preserve the natural beauty of the material by using the ancient art form ‘pyrography’ to burn my marks and textures into the wood, working with the grain to let each piece emerge. I then bring each piece to life using oil paints, gold and copper metal leaf.
I want to join The Arborealists to be around like minded artists who share my love for trees, when I came across this group, I was in awe of such a wonderful idea; feeling like my artwork could reach new levels amongst a group like this. I feel the different briefs could give me further direction and concept through my artwork.
I want to be part of a collective that inspires me.
